Agricultural Information Technology
POST A – COMPUTER SCIENCE (1 POST)
Applicants must have a minimum qualification of an MSc Degree in Computer Science. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a wide variety of courses on the BSc (Honours) in Agricultural Information Technology Programme including any four of the following courses; Operating Systems, Visual Programming, Data structures and Algorithms, Object Oriented Programming, Agricultural Data Analysis and Simulation, Bioinformatics, Database Systems, Software Engineering Concepts, Data Communications and Computer Networks. Teaching experience in any of the above areas, a PHD in any of the above fields and a track record of publishing are added advantages.
POST B – INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (1 POST)
Applicants must have a minimum qualification of an MSc Degree in Information Technology. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a wide variety of courses on the BSc (Honours) in Agricultural Information Technology Programme including any four of the following courses; Introduction to Agricultural Information Technology, Web Technologies, E-Agriculture, Precision and Smart Technologies in Agriculture, Database Systems. Teaching experience in any of the above areas, a PhD in any of the above fields and a track record of publishing are added advantages
POST C – INFORMATION SYSTEMS (1 POST)
Applicants must have a minimum qualification of an MSc Degree in Information Systems, Mathematics of Finance or Statistics. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a wide variety of courses on the BSc (Honours) in Agricultural Information Technology Programme including any four of the following courses Human Computer Interaction, Computer Applications for Agriculture, Database Systems, Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing, Network and Server Administration. Teaching experience in any of the above areas, a PhD in any of the above fields and a track record of publishing are added advantages
POST D – DATA SCIENCE (1 POST)
Applicants must have a minimum qualification of an MSc Degree in Data Science. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a wide variety of courses on the BSc (Honours) in Agricultural Information Technology Programme including any four of the following courses Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Precision and Smart Technologies in Agriculture, Database Systems, Bioinformatics. Teaching experience in any of the above areas, a PhD in any of the above fields and a track record of publishing are added advantages.
TECHNICIAN/SENIOR TECHNICIAN (1 POST)
Department of Agricultural Information Technology
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or accredited equivalent qualification from a recognized University or Institution and at least two-years of post-qualification experience in designing and implementing computer laboratories and network solutions. The incumbent will be expected to provide technical support to students and members of staff for demonstrations, configurations and installations of software and hardware. Possession of CompTIA certifications or CCNA/CCNP certifications will be an added advantage.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (1 POST)
Department of Agricultural Information Technology
Applicants must possess at least 5 Ordinary Level passes including English Language plus a Certificate in Agriculture, or a Certificate in Information Technology or Computer Studies or equivalent qualification and at least one-year relevant experience in field work. The candidate will be expected to assist in installation and maintenance of IoT equipment and materials, assist in setting up experiments and demonstrations and assist in creating a safe environment and proper handling of equipment and materials in the demonstration sites.

POST A: MOLECULAR AND CELL BIOLOGY (1 POST)
Applicants have a minimum qualification of an MSc Degree in Biotechnology, Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Immunology and Vaccinology and Molecular Life Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a wide variety of analytical, molecular and cell biology courses on the BSc (Honours) Degree in Agricultural Genetics & Cell Technology programme and any other service courses offered to other departments in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technology namely, BSc (Honours) Degree in - Sustainable Food Production Programme, Agricultural Engineering, and Agricultural Information Technology Programmes The candidate is also expected to attract research grants and conduct research. A PhD in any of the above fields and record of publishing are added advantages.
POST B: PLANT BIOTECHNOLOGY (1 POST)
Applicants must have a minimum qualification of an MSc Degree in Crop Science, Plant Pathology, Agronomy, and Agriculture. The candidate should have at least 2 year’s work experience in an institution of higher education or a research institution. The candidate will be expected to be involved in teaching and practical training of undergraduate and postgraduate students in areas of agricultural biotechnology courses on the BSc (Honours) Degree in Agricultural Genetics & Cell Technology programme and any other service courses offered to other Departments in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technology namely, BSc (Honours) Degree in - Sustainable Food Production Programme, Agricultural Engineering, and Agricultural Information Technology Programmes. The candidate will also be required to participate in community outreach programmes, attract research grants as well as conducting research. A PhD in any of the above fields, record of publishing, and hands-on expertise on Plant Breeding technologies will be an added advantage.

POST D: AGRICULTURAL BIOTECHNOLOGY – MICROBIOLOGY/ BIOTECHNOLOGY (1 POST)
Applicants must have a minimum qualification of an MSc Degree in Biotechnology, Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, Agriculture, Crop Science, Plant Pathology, Animal Health. The candidate should have at least 2 year’s work experience in an institution of higher education or a research institution. Applicants should have a minimum qualification of BSc in Biotechnology, Applied Biology and Biochemistry, Animal Health/Science, Crop Science or equivalent. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct and publish research in the areas of agricultural biotechnology indicated as well as assist in the supervision of undergraduate research projects. Current enrolment or evidence of a plan to pursue a Master’s degree is an added advantage.
SENIOR TECHNICIAN/TECHNICIAN (1 POST)
Department of Agricultural Genetics and Cell Technology
Applicants must have a Higher National Diploma / Diploma in Agriculture, Science Technology, Biological Sciences or equivalent and three years’ post-qualification experience; or a Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science/Health, Crop Science, Biological Sciences, Applied Biology & Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Botany, Microbiology, Agronomy or equivalent and one-year post-qualification experience. Applicants must have knowledge on the following analytical techniques; microbiology, molecular and cell biology techniques. Hands-on expertise in plant and animal breeding techniques will be an added advantage. Successful applicants must be able to prepare, demonstrate and supervise practicals for students, and to carry out indoor and outdoor agricultural activities for research. The candidate will be expected to supervise laboratory activities, prepare equipment or chemicals for practicals and research work, calibrate and standardize equipment or apparatus, manage inventory and procurement of consumables and equipment.

The candidate will be expected to assist the technicians during practical preparations as well as maintaining the cleanliness of the assigned laboratories.

Applicants must have minimum qualifications of 5 ‘O’ level passes including English Language plus a National Diploma in Secretarial Studies, or equivalent and at least three (3) years of relevant post-qualification experience. Computer literacy is a must and knowledge of Moodle and EduRole online platforms will be an added advantage. Proficiency in both oral and written English is a must. For senior secretary, a Higher National Diploma in Office Management or equivalent will be required. Applicants must be of mature disposition with initiative, be able to work with minimum supervision. Reliability, honesty, loyalty and dedication are essential qualities.

Applicants must have a minimum qualification of an MSc Degree in Sustainable Food Production, Agronomy, Agricultural and Applied Economics, Animal Science/Health, Rangeland Ecology, Sustainable Agriculture and Development, or a related field. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a wide variety of courses on the BSc (Honours) Degree in Sustainable Food Production Programme and any two of the following service courses in BSc (Honours) Degree in – Agricultural Genetics & Cell Technology, Agricultural Engineering, and Agricultural Information Technology Programmes; Integrated Crop and Livestock Production Systems, Sustainable Farming Systems, Animal Production Systems. Teaching experience in any of the above areas, a PhD in any of the above fields and record of publishing are added advantages. Teaching experience in any of the above areas, a PhD in the field of Agricultural Economics, and a record of publishing are added advantages. Past or current experience in fieldwork related to Agribusiness Management and Economics as well as Heritage-based (Education 5.0) approaches of agricultural systems shall be an added advantage. A PhD qualification in the respective area would be an added advantage. The applicant must have a BEng/BSc/BTech Honours Degree in one of the following fields: - Agricultural Engineering /Agricultural Equipment Design and Manufacturing Systems/ Mechanical Engineering/ Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering with specialisation in Engineering Mechanical design, and should have research interests in those areas. The successful candidate will be expected to teach the following courses, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level: Engineering Drawing, Workshop Technology, Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing Processes and contribute to the supervision of student research. He/she must also design and develop experiments and lead research in the areas of specialisation. A minimum of two (2) years relevant post qualification experience is required. Membership of a professional body such as the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers is an added advantage.
POST B: MECHANICAL DESIGN (2 POSTS)

Applicants must have at least an MSc/MEng Degree in Agricultural Engineering /Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. A PhD qualification in the respective area would be an added advantage. The applicant must have a BEng/BSc/BTech Honours Degree in one of the following fields: - Agricultural Engineering /Agricultural Equipment Design with specialisation in Engineering Design Principles/ Irrigation Engineering and should have research interests in those areas. The successful candidate will be expected to teach the following courses, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level: Theory and Mechanisms of Machines, Engineering Mechanics, Hydraulics and Fluid Mechanics. The candidate id expected to contribute to the supervision of student research. He/she must also design and develop experiments and lead research in the areas of specialisation. A minimum of two (2) years relevant post qualification experience is required. Membership of a professional body such as the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers is an added advantage.
POST C: ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS
