Biography

Mr. Abania Nyathi has been a university lecturer for a combined period of over 20 years, most as a full time member of the Department of Banking and Economic Sciences at NUST. He has also taught in at least six universities across three countries. Mr Nyathi has held several university positions ranging from Coordinator to Chairperson to Acting Dean, and has sat on several committees and boards including at management level. He co-spearheaded the formation of the Banking and Economic Sciences Department Advisory Board, which he sits in. He is a Chevening scholar, a Registered Public Accountant in Zimbabwe (RPAcc-Z), a Chartered Certified Accountant – CCA (Global), and a Chartered Governance and Accountancy (Global) professional, A former development banker and consultant, Mr Nyathi’s experience and expertise in banking, finance and accounting as well as related areas is an invaluable asset for students as he is able to blend theory and practice in his lectures

MSc in International Securities, Investment and Banking, aka Masters in Finance (Reading University, UK)

Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree in Finance (NUST, ZW)

Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education (NUST, ZW).
