Biography

Dr. Sydney Machokoto is a lecturer in the Department of Banking and Economic Science. He joined the department after serving as a part-time lecturer at NUST from 2013 to 2014 and again since 2020. Additionally, he has taught at Catholic University of Zimbabwe and Lupane University. His extensive teaching experience spans both secondary and tertiary education levels.Dr. Machokoto previously held the position of Head of Commercial Subjects and served as the District Supervisor for Commercial Subjects in the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Culture. Between 2000 and 2004, he worked as the Chief Examiner of Business Studies at the Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council. His responsibilities included setting and marking examination questions, as well as training examiners. Beyond the classroom, Dr. Machokoto has mentored numerous students at both the postgraduate and undergraduate levels. His wealth of experience in teaching and learning has uniquely positioned him to guide learners in their career paths. Additionally, he serves as the Owner and Director of Superlink Haulages.

Post Graduate Diploma in Education and Part D of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries (CIS) qualification.
